Jimmy Carter in Nashville

Been fortunate enough the last couple days to be working with Habitat for Humanity on the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter work project here in Nashville. President Carter injured after a fall at his home showed up with bruises and stitches. At a Habitat function before the build started President Carter updated his situation.

“I wanna explain my black eye,” he said,  “I got up this morning … I was getting ready for church, right after that we had a family reunion and we were coming to Nashville.”

“I fell down and hit my forehead on a sharp edge and I had to go to the hospital,” Carter explained. “And they took 14 stitches in my forehead and my eye’s black, if you noticed.”

“But I had a No. 1 priority and that was to come to Nashville to build houses!” he added.

This guy is just amazing. He could have easily opted out but he forged ahead and has been working for two straight days.
